Finding a new ‘leash’ on life…
After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, Elizabeth decided the best way to recover was by helping others – in this case, the homeless dogs. She started out volunteering at a local rescue, and every Monday went down and cleaned pens and cages, and made sure that all the dogs had food and fresh water… and, of course, plenty of attention! Soon the shelter became overcrowded, and she began to bring dogs home to their farm in eastern Oklahoma – to foster them until they could find their “fur-ever family”.
Since then, Elizabeth and I began an official rescue and rehome ranch known as EBC Farms, finding homes for over 400 dogs and counting. And yes… some of them have even found their forever home right here at the farm. To this day, she’ll still pick up a stray dog running loose, and try to locate their owner. And Lord knows, they are spoiled and taken care of until their family is found – or perhaps, until they find a new home. But she downright refuses to leave them to be run over, or starve out on their own. I guess when it comes right down to it, it’s always nice to be reminded about just how precious life – any life – truly is.

Our mission at EBC FARMS ANIMAL RESCUE is to rescue abandoned, neglected, abused, or otherwise homeless dogs, and place these animals into permanent, stable, and caring homes. We also strive to promote public awareness of the need to spay and neuter, as well as the importance of proper medical and nutritional care of their pets.
On March 5, 2020 we filed for incorporation as a non-profit Animal Rescue and filed for 501(C)(3) status. All funds and donations go directly to the EBC FARMS Animal Rescue general fund, which is spent directly on the animals, and covers vet needs, food, bedding, toys, grooming, and more.
We have our own central location where we love and care for the dogs here in Sequoyah County, OK, where they have indoor/outdoor accessible shelters, secure enclosures with ample room to run, and even a 1+ acre dog park. NONE of our rescue dogs reside in foster homes.
Because every situation is different when doing adoptions, EBC FARMS Animal Rescue reserves the right to make decisions on a case-by-case basis. Our intent is to place each animal in the home we feel is best suited to that animal and their individual needs, and not on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
